The incident happened Sunday, and was caught regarding store’s surveillance digital camera. Mara McInerney was at the checkout in the Sunglass Hut at the Freehold mall when something insider the woman purse exploded. Thick, black colored smoke could possibly be seen pouring out of the purse.
“I had battery pack inside pocket by itself, and just what it performed had been, it exploded through the pocket, ” McInerney states. "It charred each and every thing, melted each thing that I Experienced into the bag.”
McInerney claims that she at first thought that there was some form of attack in the mall because it was Sept. 11.
She claims that she hopes her tale functions as a caution to other individuals towards potential dangers of battery packs.
“simply understanding that I have my youngster and my case in back seat; my daughter is within the carseat alongside it. It’s scary plus it could happen to anybody, ” she says.
